Stephen studied architecture in Glasgow gaining Bachelor of Science with honours in architectural studies and Bachelor of Architecture degrees. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and is registered with the Architects Registration Board. He is a council member of the Cambridge Forum for the construction industry and has been awarded the Glasgow Institute of Architects parchment for outstanding architectural design.
Stephen joined the Unex Group in 1988 and became a director in 1989 and a main board director in 1992. In recent years he was managing director until it was time for Tim Gredley to take his rightful place.
Stephen is the group's architectural and forward planning director and oversees projects through the initial design and planning application process up to practical completion.
